Gas Safety domestic appliances course (Initial)
This course includes training and assessment and offers a choice of individual appliance modules and applies to installers who have modules that expire at a date that is different to the core CCN1 certificate.
It can also be used to add appliance modules to the CCN1 certificate, including CENWAT (Central Heating Boilers/Hot Water Heaters), HTR1 (Space Heaters) and CKR1 (cookers).
Installers that carry out work on domestic gas fired appliances must hold the relevant appliance module qualification.
The following individual modules are available:
CENWAT – Central Heating Boilers/Hot Water Heaters (CPA1 required)
CKR1 – Cookers
HTR1 – Space Heaters (including Gas Fires and Wall Heaters) (CPA1 required)
MET1 – Meters
DAH1 – Warm Air Heaters
Impartial Examinations are undertaken under the control of UK Certification and this is separate from any Training Activity.
Operatives must hold a current Core Domestic Gas Safety (CCN1) qualification.
For MET1, operatives must hold either CCN1 , CESP1 or CMA1.
Operatives must have been gas safe registered for a minimum of 6 months to add additional appliance certificates to their initial registration.

- Servicing and maintenance
- Basic gas safety fault finding
